Midland Centre Concours 2005

SUDBURY HALL MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD 26th JUNE 2005

This year Midland Centre chose Sudbury Hall a late 17th Century National Trust Property for the venue of the annual Concours event. The Hall is noted for its fine wood carvings and plasterwork, as well as boasting one of the most elaborate stairways of its kind in the Country. Very ornate and pretty Ceiling feature in this great hall. Fans of Pride & Prejudice may well recognise the Long Gallery, as this was featured in the recent BBC Drama. The famous Museum of Childhood depicts the life of children over the last 200 years and shows in detail how they lived and played..

About fifteen cars were expected and they lined across the front of the Hall, giving the public a spectacular view from the road. As more cars arrived they had to be placed in the stable yard and made another fine display for everyone to see. Concours got underway and the Judges had several to mark. A good standard and most Marques represented in each class. Around 3.00pm with all marks complete, it was time for prize giving.
