TTH 712 was supplied new by the BMC distributor, Fletchers of Swansea, to it
first owner and remained with him for some years. It then had a number of owners
and fell into a state of disrepair, from which it was rescued in 1996, by a
man in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, who had a rebuild carried out.
The car saw little use during his ownership and then passed into the hands of
an enthusiast in North Yorkshire, who added it to his collection. Unfortunately,
the car was put into an industrial unit where it stayed for 4 years without
use. I saw an advertisement for the car and after a swift trip to Yorkshire
bought it on the spot.
To date I have concentrated on the mechanical side of the car with replacement
of the braking system and oil seals etc all of which suffered during the time
it stood idle, and it now stops and well as it goes!
It was bought to provide a bit of fun and has given me many hours of relaxation
both in getting it back into sound mechanical order and in the great pleasure
I have in driving it.

NOTES:-
The car was built 30th May 1956 and was shipped to a dealer in Los Angeles,
USA. She came home to the UK in the 90's when it was subject to a ground -up
restoration in 1996, completed by David Barker of Grantham Lincolnshire. I purchased
the car in 2003 and our first trip was to the Healey Hundred 50th Launch Anniversary
weekend that took place at Llandridnod Wells. This was the location where publicity
shots were taken for advertising and sales brochures etc. Coincidently I discovered
that the Registration JFO 717 was local to the area. Recently, the 100M came
second in class to Keith Clapham's immaculate and original 100S, at the Midlands
Centre concourse event held at Sudbury Hall.
A big thank you to each of you for making your cars available.

Arriving early for this show is never too difficult as it is always held on the Sunday that the clocks change. On the Austin Healey Stand this year was my 3000 MKI BN7 and a Frogeye monocock belonging to Brian Wheeler.
